THESE ARE YOUR PEOPLE! Hear me out. I had a minor leak in my basement. I had “specialists” from (other companies) came by and spent 1.5h looking at my basement. They both used fear to try to sell me a fancy system I could not afford and tell me that was the only way forward. I knew from my house buying inspection my basement was actually in a pretty good state so I looked for a small company to get a third opinion. Then. this kind and honest men from Phillips basement came by for a 15 min consultation and told me my basement is in EXCELLENT state and I actually already have a drainage system that was built in the 60s, ....He showed me why there is no risk of mold at the current state of my basement, and that my foundation is actually great for a 70yr house. He charged me NOTHING to tell me the truth.... Phillips was the only company that addressed my problem honestly from expertise instead of selling me something I don’t need. I will definitely work with them if I ever have any other issues in my house.​

We hired Phillips to waterproof our 80+ year old basement, install an egress window, and install new drainage lines...they did a fantastic job. I can’t overstate the amazing experience I had with Phillips Basement Waterproofing. From Ryan Phillips answering every single question I had during the initial quote, to Bruce Phillips and the team going above and beyond and hauling away every single bit of debris from the job site. Not only that, but they finished a 5 day job in 3 days. Between the two quotes I had, they were way cheaper. I was completely blown away by the professionalism and performance of this company from beginning to end and absolutely recommend them! I first used this company out several years ago, and they didn't try to soak me for work I didn't need. I was impressed by their ethics and friendliness.  In this house I needed I-beams put in. Phillips came in $2,000 under the other quote I got, and again they didn't try to add in extra work. The entire staff was very easy to work with, the work crew was punctual/friendly/tidy and the job was completed on schedule. The next week I called in about a small issue and the crew was back THE NEXT DAY to fix it-- no fuss, no bother. I'm still amazed at this. Call them if you need work and save yourself a lot of frustration!

A neighbor recommended Phillips based on work they did on his daughter's house. I got 3 different quotes. One company quoted 16k, while Phillips and another reputable company quoted closer to 11k. I decided to go with Phillips because they were responsive, thorough, had an excellent reputation, and a professional approach. The fact that they are booking jobs 3 months in advance says something by itself. At my request, they stopped by the week before the job to inspect the prep work that was done and give feedback if anything else needed to be done. They completed the job over the course of the week as planned, and were in frequent communication with me about my questions along the way. The ground was too wet outside for them to complete the outside underground drain portion, so they prorated the fee based on what was completed and will be coming back in a couple of months to finish underground portion.

Thank you for the Phillips Basement Waterproofing recommendation! I had both Phillips and Ohio Basement Authority come to give estimates. Phillips was incredibly honest and realistic about what was needed for my 100+ year old basement, which I never intend to turn into a finished basement. Everything he recommended were items that I could do myself. Basement Authority, on the other hand, was on the extreme end of what was needed to be an ideal and cosmetically appealing basement, not necessarily work that is required to protect the home's structure. If you have an old home, go with Phillips for a realistic approach on what is required to remedy your home.

I definitely needed my basement walls to be braced/reinforced after a structural engineering inspection. So I requested bids from three basement firms -- all highly rated. Ryan Phillips bid was the most competitive, but, more importantly, I felt very comfortable with his approach and with the additional issues he identified and solutions he suggested without going overboard on cost. The work was done by Bruce Phillips -- the owner -- and Andy. I couldn't be more pleased with their work. They were punctual, professional, pleasant and very efficient and competent. Bruce even went beyond the contracted work and was able to restore the blocked underground drain by replacing a short section, thus saving me hundreds of dollars over what the others were proposing. They did a nice job of cleaning up, and the finished work looked very fine. Highest recommendation.

Ryan Phillips initially came out to give us a quote which was the most honest quote i think I have ever received. I had at least 4 other providers tell me I had to have a drainage system installed. Phillips was the only one to point out that the basement already had a drainage system in place, but due to other issues with gutters and grading it was making it hard for the system to keep up. 
 We needed to have the walls braced and while some competitors wanted us to use carbon fiber, Phillips showed us how carbon would not fix our issue at hand. They installed 17 steel beams. The day they came to install I asked them about block windows and Bruce, the owner, said if I wanted them installed he would stay up late and make the correct sizes.
The next day they finished up and cleaned up very nicely. I can honestly say I loved everything they did for us and are the most honest company I have dealt with. Thanks again to Ryan and Bruce and the entire crew.

Ryan Phillips came out on 4/22/20 to give us an estimate on waterproofing our old laundry room as we had water coming into that room for the first time in 20 years. He gave us the estimate but also went outside to survey the area where the water seemed to be finding its way into the basement. He suggested calling a concrete company to try to correct the problem outside at the source (we eventually did this). While Ryan was here, he changed a control on our sump pump which had broken (we were unaware of this). He didn't charge us for installing the new part even though I offered to pay him. We have had work done by Phillips twice in the past and have been extremely satisfied with the results. We highly recommend them.

Ten years ago I had another basement company improve the drainage around my basement and make some other repairs. I didn't get any other estimates. Recently, I had them come and look at my basement walls because they were starting sag inward. They gave me an estimate of 18 I-beams. Ryan Phillips gave me an estimate of 25 I-beams. Another company gave me an estimate of 36 I-beams. With such a spread I decided to get a structural engineer to get it right. That was a good choice and so was Phillips Basement Waterproofing. The structural engineer looked over the situation and came back with a requirement of 26 I-beams and instruction of how he wanted them to be installed. Ryan was closest with his estimate and they were also within the price range, per I-beam, the engineer had suggested. The others were much more expensive. When the structural engineer saw the emailed pictures of their work he said they did a good and proper job. He also said that Phillips was on his list of recommended contractors. Well Done!!!

We had (Phillips Basement Waterproofing) come out to do an assessment and quote for foundation braces after we were told it needed support during a home inspection. After sending a request for information, Ryan gave me a call within one business day, and was out at our house the following day. I was really impressed with the quick response time! He took a look at our basement and gave us his honest opinion of the status of our foundation. In our case, we were told by an inspector that we would need to have I-beams installed to support one of the walls, but Ryan told us honestly that he didn't think work was necessary for us at this time. It was so refreshing to be given an honest assessment, and although we won't need to have work done now, we will definitely be going back to Phillips for basement needs in the future!

Several years ago I called Phillip Basement Waterproofing, Inc. to put in glass block basement windows and look at a corner of the basement. The man that came out looked at the corner and said, "You don't need me. You need gutter repair". We went out to look, and he pointed out a depression in the soil at the corner and told me to throw a bag of mulch in there and call a gutter person to check the gutters. Sure enough--it worked. The gutter people installed wider downspouts and added another set of gutters between the garage and the house. Since then--no problems, and I thank my lucky stars that I found this honest company. You may want to call these people for a look see----

Phillips has gone above and beyond for us several times since we purchased our home last year. They made a house call to explain the waterproofing system to us when we were making initial plans for our basement bathroom. They patiently and kindly answered the (many) questions we had for them over the phone, as our bathroom plans progressed. And with our most recent water-in-the-basement problem, they came to thoroughly assess the situation and then came to correct the problem, though they had not caused it. Within a couple of hours they had corrected the plumber's errors and our waterproofing system was functioning smoothly again. Phillips handled each aspect of this job, as well as our other interactions with them, with the utmost courtesy, respect, professionalism and kindness. We cannot recommend them enough, and are anxious to enjoy our once-again-dry basement.

I had water seeping into two of my walls in the basement.  Ryan came out to look and immediately diagnosed my problem as being an exterior problem allowing rainwater to enter, likely either a downspout or grading issue.  He said that he would not try to sell me a waterproofing solution because it would not help my real problem, which was rainwater coming in higher up on the wall.  We then went outside and he quickly identified the area where the grading was not appropriate, and simply recommended adding dirt to make the lawn slope away from the house.  This came after one of the national brands tried hard to convince me that a full-blown waterproofing project was the only solution. . . . I truly appreciate Ryan’s honesty and it means a lot that he did not try to sell me an expensive solution that he did not believe was needed.  When I mentioned to Ryan how much I appreciated his honesty, his response was that they like happy customers and value honesty and doing the right thing.  This speaks volumes to the integrity of this company.

I was trying to get a home loan & the house inspector said the basement walls were too bowed and that the walls needed to be braced. After calling around for estimates, I hired Phillips. The price was much lower than the competition. The crew arrived on time and immediately got to work. They put in 6 braces, cutting into the concrete floor so the braces were stable and anchoring them at the top with super heavy-duty bolts. The work passed inspection with flying colors. Everyone was personable & professional, but focused on completing the job. Perfect job, very satisfied, no complaints or problems. Would definitely use Phillips again & recommend them to others.

Phillips Basement Waterproofing has been the best company that I have ever hired. In addition to the original work, I have had two service calls and Phillips has stood behind there work every step of the way. I live in a house built in 1936 and the foundation is very different modern foundations. Yet Phillips has come through on unexpected situations and alleviated the problem. Initially we had an estimate done by another company who told us it would cost 7K to solve the drainage issues in our newly purchased home.  This meant uprooting landscaping, fencing, and even sidewalks.  We had Ryan come out for a second opinion and he actually took a closer look at the existing sump system and informed us that both sumps were burnt out.  Both sumps were covered under our home warranty which meant a $0 cost to us!  ... Ryan was personable, professional, and above all HONEST. This was the best contractor experience that I have encountered in the 30 years of owning a home and hiring contractors. The owner Bruce Phillips oversaw the work and did a lot of the work himself. We were under a tight time frame to get the waterproofing job completed, and Bruce juggled his schedule to meet it .... I would use them again in a heartbeat. They deserve a AAA+ rating.
